The Darkness Shines: A Thomas O'Grady Serial Killer Novel

The Darkness Shines picks up where Diamonds from Darkness left off. Thomas is back from Barcelona and getting his life back together. As he settles back into his day-to-day routine at the clinic, he is approached by Dr. Gunther and asked about going out to work with the large animal vets. He is thrilled at the opportunity to gain additional experience with farm animals.

When he ends up at the racetrack to treat a colicky filly, he uncovers something deeply sinister. One of the wealthy horse owners has been killing off some of his higher-value stock to collect insurance money. The discovery puts Thomas on edge — he needs to get with Casey so they can investigate.

Once they pinpoint the exact players involved, they decide to handle the situation the best way they know how.

Meanwhile, Thomas asks Dan to move in with him and Casey. Casey also finds a new love interest who seems to be spending a lot of time at their place. As it turns out, this person was someone Thomas used to show horses with — arch rivals in the show ring who secretly carried a mutual crush. That long-buried teenage attraction resurfaces, creating tension between Casey and Thomas as they both find themselves drawn to the same man.
